Always Eat After 7

This post is brought to you by our sponsor, “Always Eat After 7 PM”. The opinions expressed below are my own.

A big goal of mine has been to shed extra body fat and get into shape. I always worry about dieting and a decrease in energy so I have been looking for a way to do this while increasing my energy and overall well being. I was so excited to have the chance to receive an advance copy of “Always Eat After 7 PM” by Joel Marion.

For the next month, I will share my personal experience and put some of the book and diet.

Always Eat After 7 PM is The 14-day Acceleration Phase. It is meant to kick-start the program and see rapid results. The Main Phase will teach you exactly which foods to eat and when to help accomplish your weight-loss goals. Lastly, The Lifestyle Phase to keep the weight off.

The first thing Joel goes over is eating late. Let’s face it, some diets want you to quit eating at an unreasonable time and that just doesn’t work for me between sports practice for the kids and house work in general. He highlights studies and his own experience battling weight, which is what I like to see, real information. After doing the research, Joel decided to put his findings to the test and the results were fantastic! He dropped 12 lbs down in the first 2 weeks, 46 lbs after 16 weeks, and his abs were flatter and had more energy. I am here for this, it is exactly what I need. But what really struck a chord with me was this:

“At my next medical checkup, my doctor was shocked at how good my blood work had gotten, so quickly. And let’s not forget the most important part: for the first time in months, I had the energy to keep up with my little girls.”

Having the energy to keep up with FIVE kids is a constant battle! I need something that works for my lifestyle and helps make it easier.

Be sure check out this video on Joel’s top tips for success.

Summer Frozen Lavender Lemonade

Hey friends! I have teamed up with a group of bloggers to bring you some delicious summer and spring drink recipes. All links are listed at the bottom of my blog.

Summer time in Arizona means doing everything possible to cool, including drinking all the cold drinks out there. One of my favorite, most refreshing drinks, is Lavender Lemonade. Making is frozen, was the best spin ever!

So, obviously, I could make homemade lemonade, but with the kids being home 24/7 because of Corona, time is not of the essence. Although I love homemade, Crystal Light is our go to right now! I usually grab a big bag of pitcher sized packets every time we are at Walmart. It is sugar free and good!

WHAT YOU NEED

1. Crystal Light Packets

2. Pitcher

3. Blender

4. Ice

5. Lavender Syrup

I can’t even tell you how simple frozen lavender lemonade is to make. Just as a heads up, lavender syrup is something I have on hand, but I do get a shipment monthly of it (thank goodness for Amazon Prime 😂). Everything else is easily found at any store.

HOW TO MAKE IT

1. Add 1 cup of ice to your blender

2. Pour in 8 ounces of Crystal Light Lemonade

3. Add 4 squirts of Lavender Syrup (approx 3 Tablespoons)

4. Blend

5. Garnish with mint leaves

That is it! So quick and easy and DELICIOUS! It took me under 5 minutes to make my drink and enjoyed it on my back patio. I was absolutely pleased with it and hope you love my Iced Lavender Lemonade as well. As always, if you make it, let me know!

**I wanted to let you guys know that if you do purchase lavender syrup, know that it is AMAZING in coffee! Lavender white chocolate mocha is my absolute favorite coffee ever.

Two Ingredient Slime

Happy Friday, friends! I am so excited because today, some friends and I have come together to each bring you a fun activity with your kids!

Our activities isn’t anything too creative, but tons of fun! We are going to show you have to quickly and easily make two ingredient slime because, let’s face it, with five kids, my time is super limited. 😂

WHAT YOU NEED:

1. Glue (you can use regular school glue 4oz, clear glue 5oz, or glitter/glow in the dark/color changing “specialty glue” 6oz)

2. Elmer’s Magical Liquid Slime. This is a slime activator. One bottle makes 4 batches of glue. It replaces the “at home” version of using baking soda and contact solution

3. Bowls to mix your slime up in

4. Spoons

5. A 1/4 cup measuring cup

6. Your kids 🙂

HOW TO MAKE YOUR SLIME

This is literally the easiest slime I have ever made! Just add your glue to the bowl. We used the specialty glitter glue which requires the entire 6oz bottle. If you use clear glue, add 5oz of glue and for regular school glue you will add 4oz of that glue.

Next, you simply add the Elmer’s Magical Liquid. They saved so much money on contact solution and baking soda and is one simple step. Use 1/4 a cup of the Magical Liquid per batch, then mix it up.

Guys! That is IT! Your slime is done and now it’s time to have fun! The clean up is so easy. Since the glue and activator was in the same bowl, it easily cleans off with water if there was any leftover glue.

Do your kids like making slime? Mine love it! We store it in old Tupperware or a ziplock bag to make sure it doesn’t dry out. I did learn the hard way to not let the kids play outside with it! Since we are hitting the summer months in Arizona, I am totally ok with that!

Thank you so much for reading! If you’d like to see some more activities head to these blogs to see what there shared

How CBD Has Helped Me Get A Good Night of Sleep

Anyone else struggle in the sleep department? Can I sleep normally? Yes. Is it at appropriate times? No. I frequently find myself needing naps durning the day dude to tossing and turning, inability to fall asleep and weird dreams. All of my daily worries always seem to grasp me in. my sleep. And if you really want me to fall asleep, put me on the couch with a movie!

Oh come on, I can’t be the only one!

In all seriousness, my sleep issues have been such a problem for me. Sometimes I skip workouts and order dinner instead of cooking. By the time my older kids are home from school, my mood has plummeted and most nights, we still have practice to get to. When Payton is home, he helps with daily responsibilities as much as possible, but fire life makes it very difficult to count on.

To help, I have begun using Receptra Naturals Serious Rest + Chamomile Tincture 25mg/dose. Using it is so easy and the sleep I get is amazing. I simply use a full dropper 30 minutes before bedtime by holding it my mouth, under my tongue for approximately 60 seconds. Within 30 minutes, I find myself drifting into a peaceful sleep. No more tossing and turning, no more waking up more tired than before bed.

Waking up refreshed daily has been so life changing for me. I have energy to work out, take care of the family, cook and clean (usually not all in one day…hahah)! I don’t find myself snoozing on the couch during Rhett’s nap time, I am able to effectively use the time. The best part? Using CBD for Sleep is so easy! I never wake up with the groggy feeling that other sleep aids have given me.

Have you tried CBD for Sleep yet? If not, now is the time to try Receptra Naturals Serious Rest + Chamomile Tincture. Head on over for more information!

Quick Tom Kha Style Soup

Anyone else a lover of Thai food? I am such a fan, Tom Kha is my absolute favorite soup, I frequently order it from a local Thai restaurant. Last week, I decided I would do some research on how difficult it is to make and if I could do it.

Traditional Tom Kha is full of several uncommon ingredients so I decided to mix it up and try a recipe with similar tastes, but more common ingredients. It took a few tried to get the taste exactly where it should be, but I finally perfected the soup to have the perfect flavor.

One of my favorite things about this recipe is you can add whatever meat you want in it (I add when I am eating). I love it with chicken or just vegan with cauliflower rice! Shrimp is a great add to Tom Kha as well.

What Do You Need?

I was able to easily grab everything at my local grocery store. I already had most of the ingredients, but picked up coconut aminos (you can use soy, but we don’t use soy sauce), coconut milk (the fatty kind, it comes in a can – not light), fresh ginger, onion, carrots, cilantro, green onions, mushrooms, garlic cloves and limes.

I already had olive oil, coconut sugar, cayenne pepper, pepper, salt, and vegetable stock. If you don’t have those, make sure you grab them.

How To Prepare Your Soup

This is super simple and quick, thank goodness! Your first step will be to get out a large pot. Add your olive oil and begin warming it. While it heats, mince your garlic. You will also want to cut your onion and prepare your mushrooms. I bought mushrooms that were already sliced, it was much easier. Add all 3 and saute for about 5 minutes.

Next, add your shredded carrots. You can purchase them this way or prepare them on your own. I used all organic ingredients and couldn’t find organic shredded carrots so I did it on my own with a peeler.
Add coconut aminos, ginger, sugar, vegetable stock, salt, pepper, and cayenne. I boiled all together and then reduced heat and covered for about 20 minutes. Be sure to stir it frequently.
That is it y’all! Your soup is now read to be served with a bit of lime, green onions and cilantro! As I stated, I added shredded chicken that I made in ginger to my soup and it was amazing!

If you decide to make it, as always, I would love to know what you think of it! Be sure to let me know!

Dairy Free St Patricks Day Shamrock Shake Recipe

Anyone else love those delicious green milk shakes that come out at McDonald’s every spring? I LOVE them and decided it would be fun to make a healthier version at home that the kids can help with. Not only were they CHEAP, they turned out amazing and we didn’t use any food coloring.

So How did we make them?

Our Shamrock Shakes were quick, easy, cheap, DAIRY free AND had veggies. That is right, VEGGIES! The kids didn’t even mind.

We used dairy free ice cream (easily found at any grocery store), unsweetened almond milk, mint extract and last, but not least, spinach. The spinach easily turned our Shamrock Shakes green!

Cool, right? No food coloring.

I have always just kind of dumped the ingredients in the blended and pressed go. No matter the amounts, the Shamrock Shakes turn out really yummy, but since this is a blog, I took the time to measure out how much I added. Please note, at any time, you can add more or less of any ingredient, this is a hard recipe to ruin!
